The Preventing Violence at Work: Awareness / Risk Assessment program is training specifically tailored to the corporation or the individual.
The initial stage of this assessment process involves a detailed review of current risk factors that indicate the degree of risk from inter-personal violence.
Employees in certain industries and locations are more at risk of violence than may be believed.
This review focuses on identifying key management responsibilities and employee responsibilities through a review of previous incidents of workplace violence and severity, industry standards, physical workplace risks and job description risks.
At the conclusion of this program, the corporation / risk manager will have a detailed violence assessment template including the following:
- Employee / Workplace safeguards (preventative)
- Early intervention protocol
- Zero tolerance policies
- Violence mitigation strategies between employees and clients
- Violence mitigation strategies between coworkers
- Violence response plan
- Recommended staff training
- Method for proper investigation and documentation of workplace violence
- Safe hiring / termination strategies to minimize the potential for workplace violence amongst coworkers.
This program is appropriate for corporations or organizations whose industry places their employees at significant risk of violence through the completion of job tasks such as:
- Providing immediate emergency intervention
- Providing emergency medical aid to victims
- Providing disaster relief services (i.e. Red Cross, Samaritans Purse, etc)
- Evacuating staff or facility lockdown
- Scene containment
- High risk social service intervention (i.e. child assessment/apprehensions, probation officers, remote or in-home nursing care)
- Working in an environment where alcohol is either sold or consumed
- Working in industry targeted by protestors or action groups
- Working in isolated or remote areas
